Coaches and Staff

All Leisure Unlimited coaches use humor and enthusiasm to encourage participation and create a positive learning experience at our classes, camps, birthday parties and special events.

For the safety of your children, all coaches have been fingerprinted and have passed a criminal background check.

Classes are currently available for ages 3 to 19. Refer to our current class schedule for details.

Jo Schirtzinger (full time)

After receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Recreation and Parks Administration from Central Michigan University,  and not receiving any job offers, Coach Jo founded Leisure Unlimited in 1994.

A lifetime athlete, Coach Jo is also a former High School Class A Volleyball Coach, former High School Class Basketball Coach and former MHSAA Official for 10 years in the sports of Volleyball, Basketball and Softball.

Coach Jo’s focus is mostly on Volleyball and Basketball for the older kids, but being fun and silly helps keep the little ones interested as well. 

David East (full time)

Originally from a sales and marketing background, Coach Dave partnered with Leisure Unlimited LLC late in 1995.

Coach Dave has been a lifetime athlete particularly in basketball and baseball.  Goofy, funny and patient, he has been coined “the pied piper” because kids return to his classes year after year.  He is particularly good with the shy ones.
